Internet and the World Wide Web

The Internet is a network that connects computers all over the world to each other. The Internet allows people to share information and communicate anywhere. It was created by Vinton Cerf and Bob Kahn in the 1970s when they developed Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol which are communication models that determine how data can be transmitted between networks. The creation of the first prototype was first started through the U.S. Department of Defense as a way of getting information for the government during the war. Now the Internet is used for way more and billions of people use it to communicate across the world on a daily basis.

The World Wide Web was created after the creation of the Internet. It is an interconnected information system on the Internet. This allows documents to be connected by one search. This is not the same as the Internet but rather an application built on top of it to assist it. They work together to get information from point A to point B.

The creator of the World Wide Web was Tim Berners-Lee. He created the first web server, web browser, and webpage on this computer in the CERN physics research lab in 1990. His first website's link is http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html.The creation wasn't announced until 1991 and was created to help scientists around the world share information. Now everyone uses the World Wide Web to get information, share, and communicate.
