This first video is very short and quick yet it introduces Illustrator nicely. The creator of the video gets right into showing us how to use certain tools and where you can find them. He shows us the most basic tools like the rectangle tool and shows us where to find it and how to change it up both with color and size. Another tool he shows us is the star tool and how to use that which I found interesting since it seems extremely easy to make. All you have to do when creating a star is press the up and down keys to add or decrease the number of points you want. He also shows the difference between the selection tool and the deselection tool and what the deselection tool does. The creator gets through a lot in just five minutes.

The second video here is a more lengthy video than the first. This video is nice because the woman goes much slower than the man in the first video. In the video, she first starts off by showing us the hand tool and how we can easily move around the canvas. This is good to know right off the bat because we might need to focus on one specific area and this allows us to get a better look. The creator throughout the video starts at the bottom left of the toolbar and works her way up through the toolbar to show us each and every tool and how to use the specific tool. She also goes more in-depth than just showing us how to create shapes by showing us how to mirror words and also create a rounded type which seems really cool and good to know. this tutorial really makes things look easy and she explains it well.

In this video, the creator shows us how to use the pen tool. At the very beginning of the video and seems like using the tool would be hard and confusing but he really explains how to use it. The pen tool is really about just connecting points and how to get rid of lines when done with the pen tool.  He also shows us how to use the pen tool with different shapes like triangles and he splits the video up into straight lines, bezier curves, how to break paths, and he also talks about lettering and how to create that with the pen tool. He starts off easy with straight lines and then goes into harder topics when using the pen tool but explains it nicely.

Somewhere Project

  For the Somewhere project, I decided to choose a scene from the movie Baby Driver. This scene is very iconic as is one of the best movies scenes that does not have dialogue yet tells a whole story. I decided to use this specific photo from the scene as there was space for me to put a photo of myself in without disrupting it a whole lot. When taking the photo of myself I tried to make it so I wasn't taking away too much from the scene.  Overall this project was difficult as it took me a while to get the cut out perfect and to make sure that the photo was positioned correctly to make it really look like I was in the scene. It also took some time to get the coloring to be similar to the original photo. This project took me around 2 hours to create as there were some areas where it got tricky. I however really like how it turned out.

Business Cards

  I really enjoyed this project as business cards are very important when you want to make connections with people. The first business card I made was the black one with the yellow logo. For the front of the card I decided to put the logo on the left and my name, major, and contact information on the right. For the back of it I just put the logo in the middle. I chose to make the background of the card black to make the yellow stand out. When creating the text I decided to put my name in white to make it stand out and then did the rest of the text in yellow so that it went with the color of the logo.  The second card I did was the pink one. For this one, I chose a dark pink background so that it went with the pink logo yet let the logo stand out more. I did the same layout as the first card yet this time only put the ad/pr part in a lighter pink to match the logo. I also used a different font to make it a little more mature and fancier.  The last business card I made was the blue one.

Autoscopy

  For this autoscopy project, I decided to have a space and flower theme. For the background, I took a photo of Outerspace off the internet and used the magnetic lasso tool, mask layer, and brush tool to make it look like I am in Outerspace. I also used another space like photo on my skin. When putting the space photo over my skin I decreased the opacity so that you could still see my face. I used the same tools as I did for the background to fit the photo on my face and neck. To add to the Outerspace theme I also added a moon, Saturn, and another planet. This added color to the photo rather than just having black and purple. When adding the Saturn I also changed the hue and saturation to make it blue rather than the original color of brown. I added the flowers to make the photo creative and different. I decided to do purple flowers because I felt like that went with the Outerspace photos.
